As I was granted this blog award by Miq (http://threedescriptors.wordpress.com) AND The Lime (http://thecolorlime.wordpress.com,) I really had no choice but to accept…you know…peer pressure. “Just one more!”
So here it is, ‘The Versatile Blogger Award’ (see picture below.)
According to the scared rules accompanying this honor, I must perform several solemn duties. They are as follows:
- Thank and link the person who nominated you. (Thank you, Miq and The Lime!)
- Share seven random facts about yourself. (check)
- Pass the award along to fifteen to twenty deserving blogs. (done and done.)
- Contact the winners to congratulate them. (ooookay…)
3. Rinn Ziegler has been told that listening to her recite her dreams is like watching a Terry Gilliam movie. She’ll take that as a compliment.
4. Rinn Ziegler is waiting for scientists using functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) and computational models to perfect the reconstruction of visual images and turn them into movies. Basically, dreams to screen. Oh yeah. Shiv Cinema.
5. Rinn Ziegler is a beast easily tamed by music.
6. Except by the music she hates.

Congrats! Well done!
Thanks, Robin!
CONGRATULATIONS! Such a fine honor… such shameless self promotion, what some people won’t do to see their names in print. I don’t know about ‘Blogger’, but “Versatile Writer’ for sure!
So, is Rinn Ziegler really your name? Or, just another ‘pen name’ like Quill Shiv… which I’ve thought very clever by the way. The nibs illustrating your blog reminded me of my second wife, who was a master of calligraphy & pen and ink artist. In fact, every time I see your blog I think of her… so thanks a lot, Quill or Rinn!!!
LOL Thank you, Ted.
Rinn Ziegler is the name I was given. Or rather, Rinn is my nickname. I always tried to pick up calligraphy, but I never quite had the patience required to master it. Much like origami, it is an art I quite admire.
So, is it okay if I address you as Rinn? And what is it short for, or derive from?
Also, let’s be fair now… #6 above should actually be part of #5… so you still owe 1.
Oh course it is okay to call me Rinn. It’s my name.
LOL Where it derives from is a longer story.
I was having a lot of trouble coming up with 7. It’s been a looooong weekend! I think we’ll split the difference and call it 6.5?
Congrats. And lol at you referring To yourself in 3rd person. Cracked me up.
LOL I know. I think it is funny in this circumstance as well.
Dear Rinn,
I need to get out more.
Thanks for nominating me. I am honored that my blog stuck in your voluminous memory long enough to make it to the ‘who do I bless with a nomination to Versatile Blogger status’ list. Now I have to get busy and return the favor.
Aloha,
Doug
Doug,
I know the feeling! And you’d be surprised about my memory. I’m very familiar with walking into a room, and not knowing why I’m there.
Hi Rinn,
Congratulations on the award, it is very richly deserved
. The quality of your writing speaks for itself and your site is always an interesting place to visit. Several times now, you have left me wishing I had more time and mental energy to spend on responses to your wonderful posts. At some point I may try for some (very) late entries into your flash challenges, if that would be okay.
Thanks very much for recommending and nominating me.
Oh, I always feel as if I had more mental energy (and TIME!) to comment more thoroughly on other’s sites. And write more. Oh, and sleep more!
And of course you are welcome to enter any of the past flash fiction prompts, no matter how late. While they go week to week, the prompts are really meant to stimulate and challenge any writer (and usually myself) to push boundaries. I’d love to see what you have whenever you are ready.
And you’re welcome.
